“三個洞” (3-hole) Dress

After having some trouble with Project #3 (still yet to solve the problem), I wanted to make something really easy and simple for this Week #4. I happened to chance upon a fuss-free dress on Martha Stewart which I thought would be the perfect dress for my Japanese voile. This dress is essentially a rectangle, shapeless dress which made it a really quick one to complete. However it didn’t turn out as casual as I imagined it to be. It could be the choice of belt, fabric, or the fat me, etc. It also didn’t fit too well. Then again, how well can a rectangle dress fit? If I were to make this dress again, I would definitely use my bodice block and insert a side zipper to give it a little more shape!

Fabric: Japanese voile from local store (SGD$10/yard, used 1 yard)
Notions: Ribbon
Time to complete: 2 hours
First worn: May 2011
Wear again? Maybe after I found/make a more casual belt

Total Cost: SGD 12
