As I planned to
rush out make a picnic-ish dress for a date, the “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” dress has the honour of debuting this project! The choice of fabric is Elegance in Cream from Moda’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s collection by Joanna Figueroa, hence the name. I really wished I can wipe out every single piece of fabric from the collection!
Betty Draper was a convenient source of inspiration as I have been dying to make a dress which resembles what she would wear in Mad Men. There is no reason why you wouldn’t fall in love with and lust for her wardrobe!

The dress Betty wore to a picnic in Season 2 was a love at first sight but it was not easy to decide on the choice of fabric (both are equally pretty!). I finally settled on the one on the left which coincides with ‘Something Floral, Something Blue‘ on the Week of January 24th in Sew Weekly. For this dress, I kept the gathered rectangle skirt and the U-neckline, but changed the spaghetti strap to sleeveless.
